Precious

What does it mean to find or have something that is precious to you? When something is precious, you cherish it or you are fond of it and have a fond affection for it. Well in this matter I do not find anything materialistic precious. More precious than gold, silver, or the finest diamonds is my beautiful niece Addison. Everytime I see her she is more precious and beautiful then the last time I saw her. She fills my heart with joy and all I pray is that God watches over her and blesses her. I know she is a blessing to my entire family but she has a special place in my heart and always will. I love to play with her and watch her play with her little toys. When she smiles and giggles my heart melts.

Addison is precious to me. I love spending time with her, holding her, and watching her grow into the beautiful girl that God is making her to be. She is a true blessing from God.

Doxology

I remember gathering around the table with all my extended family for a dinner. As consistent as hearing the "Lighthouse" song in our family, we sang the doxology before meals. I was singing the doxology to myself and began to meditate on the words, and how true and powerful each verse in that song is.

Praise God from whom all blessing flow,
Praise Him all creatures here below,
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts,
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
Amen

How true and powerful is this to God be all the praise.

2nd Corinthians 9:15 "Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift."

In High Tide or Low Tide, where will you be?

Of course it is yet another night that I am just kicking it listening to some Bob Marley and the song, "High Tide or Low Tide" came on and how inspiring it is. For those of you who are not familiar with the song here is part of the chorus.

In high tide or in low tide,
I'll be by your side,
I'll be by your side.

What does this even mean. It means that in the good times and the bad times. I will be by your side. No matter what trials come your way. I will be by your side. Isn't that true with God? The one who loves us unconditionally? No matter in the good times or the bad times he is always there. How comforting it is to know that.

What an example that is for us. I know that it can be easy when times get tough with friends or family to back away from the problem. But just as God never leaves, so we should do the same for one another. To be there to help each other when we stumble. This life is tough enough. Lend a loving hand.

I Never Learned alot of Math, but the Only Concept that Matters is Addition

Congratulations to Emily and David (My sister and broheim-in-law) on the exciting new addition to their family due in July. What a blessing this nino will be not only to Emily and David, but to me and the rest of my family. I will be an Uncle, even if I felt I needed to take a class on "How to be an Uncle 101" I am excited for this future bundle of joy.

The Final Countdown

The sun is shining,
The grass is green,
The spring air is warm,
The bats are anxious,
The baseballs sit in anticipation,
Waiting for the words to be shouted for all to hear,
Play Ball!
Baseball is finally here.

The anticipation for the spring season has nearly come to an end. With less than a week to go till our first game. The anticipation in my heart is growing. My favorite time of the year is finally here. Time to grab my glove, lace my cleats, pull down my hat, step between the baselines, kick the dirt on the rubber, settle my foot softly next to the rubber. and deliver my long anticipated pitch for the spring season of baseball.

The gang of ball players from different backgrounds and regions, finally going to unite for the upcoming season as the San Diego Christian College Hawks.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." -Ephesians 2:8-10 (Seasons Verse)
